Canadian Path: Outdoor Adventure Skills Badges

Outdoor Adventure Skills were introduced officially in 2016 as a major component of "The Canadian Path", after a two year trial period in select locations.

OAS are divided into 9 adventure series, each with 9 stages of achievement. The OAS are distinct from previous program designs in that the skills are used in all 5 of Scouts Canada's youth sections: Beaver Scouts, (Wolf) Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturer Scouts and Rover Scouts.

A youth can experience outdoor adventures and achieve various stages of proficiency with his or her skills and be recognized with an OAS badge, at the stage (1 through 9) of their achievement. The stages transcend from easiest to more difficult and are not sector, nor age, specific.

A youth can achieve an OAS level badge in Beavers and wear the same badge into Cubs, etc. The OAS are a continuous set of challenges crossing the Scouting expererience from age 5 to 26.

The OAS badge images are catalogued in the "Outdoor Adventure Skills" pages.
